It has been WAY too long since I posted on here. Life got in the way, as usual, and anything that didn't benefit the kids, make us money, or make me stronger got pushed aside (except, of course, Netflix).
So what has been going on in the world of Meg's kids? I know you've been dying to know, so here goes.

Carter, reading a chapter book
Carter started First Grade in September. He's been doing incredibly well, academically, but sometimes still gets distracted in class. He is 6 years old, after all. The good news is, he is still reading well above his grade level, and math seems to come naturally to him. He is too smart for his own good. We're trying to keep him humble, but it ain't easy.
He is now absolutely obsessed with Minecraft--the game, the books, the minifigures. He has been building airports, towns, roller coasters, everything he can imagine. I am generally not a fan of video games, but Minecraft really seems to stretch his imagination, so I am not feeling too bad about his playing it.
Jordan is in her last year of preschool (thank God), and she has made some really good friends there. She seems to be the life of the party in her little classroom, but is also learning a ton and listening really well at school. She is starting to learn to read a few words, and may soon be following in her brother's literary footsteps.
Jordan at ski lessons
She is still into the girly princessy stuff, and just got her first American Girl doll. She's also expressed some interest in Minecraft and Legos, though that may be because her BFF and idol, Carter, is into them.
Jordan also just turned 5 on January 6. She is now calling herself 5 1/2.
The kids started their second season of ski lessons at Mt. Bachelor last weekend. It was a snowy, windy day up there, but they came out with smiles. They are both learning to do more french fries (parallel) than pizzas (snowplow), and I am super proud of them!
We are now on our third snow day of the week, and the kids don't seem to be tiring of it as much as we are. The snow has reached obscene levels, making it hard to get anywhere, and even difficult to sled. So there has been a fair amount of screen time at the Anderson household; don't tell the parenting experts.
